Art under the volcano - symposium 2009/Indonesia
* painter.
Yida has let herself be inspired by the
volcano too. It gives her an image of
spitted fire and stones.
Although she
has a Japanese cultural background
she considers herself as a
universal artist.
Sometimes one
recognizes her Japanese identity in a
single draw, enough to give us an idea
of a volcano.
Homage to Delft - symposium 2009
'a delicacy in form and in color,
carefully chosen with a poetic sensibility'
One of the tests of craftsmanship for a painter is making a perfect circle. Rembrandt has shown it on some of his last made self portraits.
Noriko Yida is too modest to make selfportraits. But she made circles on the occasion of an Homage to Delft. She has it in her fingers to make them in an unforgettable way, perfectly.
Her art work is characterized by its delicacy. It is a delicacy in form and in color, carefully chosen with a poetic sensibility.which reveals without any ostentation but with great intensity a refined and intense relationship to the realities, visible and invisible, of our world.
Her art works are an invitation to contemplation and meditation.
Recycle Art - symposium 2008
'a cyclical process of material creates art.'
After a good 25 years of creating art, this is the first time that Yida has been confronted
with recycling. For the 'Recycle Art' project she has let herself be inspired by the Dutch
country and the materials that she has found around her.
The themes of printing techniques and femininity run throughout her art. All forms of art that
she has created have grown out of these fundamentals.
For her piece 'Circulation of material'
she has beaten an old plate of plastic with a driving punch, thereby making forms.
By putting the object outside in a sunlit setting, the changing light, gives the artwork an added
dimension. Recycling has now inspired her to re-use printing plates to create art.
