Recycle Art symposium 2008
'one sees it, but doesn't want to hear it.'
Tangande is a creative thinker. Her studio is a source of inspiration and a meeting-point where
everyone is welcome.
With regard to recycling, she already incorporates a great deal of used materials into her art.
The only new materials are glue and pigment. Paper is her favourite material. She feels that
it has a rather open energy on which one can reflect. Many of her works such as statues,
paintings, fashion and photography have their basis in paper. She feels that when you
use recycled materials it is as if you breathe new life into them and give them a new dimension.
For the 'Recycle Art' project she has, together with Paula Kouwenhoven, torn the Dutch Government
Department of Culture Notes 2005-2008 into pieces and has made it into a Japanese mask.
She has also used pulp made from milk packages brought from Japan, together with organza
to create other works. 'I want to reach everyone's heart and hope my art can contribute to it.'
