Art under the volcano - symposium 2009/Indonesia

* painter, sculptor and designer.
Muizert let herself be inspired by bamboo. It has its natural origin on Java, but it is overgrowing throughout the world.
She wants to visualize the mission of the symposium: the chaos of today’s society with its crises and climatechange and at the same time our believe in human’s strenght to restore his own misery.
She wants to show us we can make bridges with bamboo to reach the other side in order to feel the warmth of each other.

Recycle Art - symposium 2008

'the basic thought of recycling is water.'

The first thing Muizert thinks of with recycling is the water cycle: a river flows to the sea where the water evaporates and returns as rain… . There is no loss of matter through this system. Matter is re-used, a new destination is reached or a new function found. Thus materials live longer. Recycling mirrors the human life cycle.

She detests plastic goods and is especially interested in natural elements. An example of this is wood, which she particularly enjoys collecting at the Lago Maggiore in Italy. Nowadays she combines wood with plaster. She feels each piece of wood has its own story. She finds the beautiful forms are very inspiring.
For the 'Recycle Art' project Muizert used wood, metal and plaster, with which she wants to express the lines of flowing water. The plaster connects the other materials and enables the expression of her emotions through her statue. It makes her statue and her message stronger and more exciting.

She makes art for everyone that instantly commands attention.
