De tentoonstelling "BE Vrij Ding/ LIB E Ration" laat van 6 februari 2005 tot en met 29 mei 2005 in het World Art Delft het werk van 20 kunstenaars uit binnen- en buitenland zien. Tijdens de opening kunt u de presentatie zien van de nieuwe website, ontworpen door Olaf Z de Baar (zefanja.com), voor World Art Delft waarin we de processen van de deelnemende kunstenaars kunnen volgen. Een prachtige kleurencatalogus van het werk van alle kunstenaars wordt gepresenteerd op de opening van de expositie. Daarin vertelt iedere kunstenaar zijn/haar redenen om mee te doen aan BE Vrij Ding/LIB e Ration. I did usually ask myself this question whenever I have to think new projects related to an already existing theme. In many situations I look at us (the world) as somebody who is really glued to material possession of things, goods and values. Even us (the artists) we are so fascinating by objects, lights, projections and the importance of selling things. In the most perverse way raw materials, if exploited, gain an added value that makes social inequalities between whom get easily those products from nature and who doesn't. Nowadays we can think on actual reality if we consider what is going on around fuel, petrol and water. Not so far, in the past, salt has had the same important rule in negotiations and political dealings between the most powerful nations in Europe. The Netherlands too couldn't conserve haring without salt, that imported from south Europe. Our culture has always been characterised by accumulating goods, wealth and to keep it: The upper class and who is holding economic power did play strategic choices to be in high-favour with some nation. We can have an important feedback on this argument, reading this consideration of Georges Bataille in his "The notion of expenditure".
