Salty Klompen.
Are we as the world still glued to material possession of things, goods and values?
Are we as the artists so fascinated by objects, lights, projections and the importance of selling things?
"Things" has their own weight and often it becomes heavier if we don't look at them as they are.
I ask you just for a few minutes to think at raw materials as they are, not as exploited objects (or exploitable)
I can see petrol or water.
Even a so simple and usual material as salt. In the past, salt exploitation gave to Venice its monopoly on half Mediterranean, financed Colombo's trip to "new Indians continent", wars and of course originated social inequalities in the most developed countries.
Basically how they could conserve haring without salt?
We (the occidental world) have always been characterised by the need of accumulate goods, wealth and obsessed by the secrets of keeping them.
Is there a place for Utopist thoughts?
I tried to put a "C" to the word Liberation (Bevrijding) and I get a LiberAction.
An action to free objects from their exploitation.
Something vulnerable, that we cannot keep in the passing time.
Ephemeral shoes made out of salt will dissolve themselves under you feet.
Our poetry is the awareness that we possess nothing.
