The specific goal of WAD SCULPTURES is the encounter of man with nature through art. Man always has to keep longing for nature: compassion and attention to nature can inspire one’s life. It can provide peace and harmony and gives the opportunity to look another way to life. Through all seasons.
Art is like a magnifying glass to make us aware. Artists may well excite and stimulate us. They are able to present us, by an appropriate visual language, another view on reality and they also can reflect real life in art.
Besides traditional sculptures on a pedestal we are also looking for a relationship between the sculpture and its environment.
WAD Sculptures shows in the outside location the work of artists with their sculptures, and installations. 24 Artists from home and abroad in a garden of sculptures that will be a paradise where one can enjoy art and nature.
The artists / sculptors are:
Joost Barbiers - Riëlle Beekmans - Joyce Bloem - Wolfgang Brenner - Pierluigi Cattaneo - Marisa Cortese - Ann Derkx - Claudia Haberkern - Ad Haring - Hans la Hay - Keiju Kawashima - Hanneke Klinkum - Loes Kouwenhoven - Natalie Lorenz - Herbert Nouwens - Kouji Ohno - Els Otten - Mia van de Plasse - Rudi Punzo - Roel Teeuwen - Annelies Verhoeff-Pruisken - Paul Vincken - Elsie Wood.
Furthermore we will have an educational part as well as a workshop. Moreover young people will draw a picture of Mayor and Aldermen of Delft, after which the Japanese sculptor Kouji Ohno will carve the heads out of wood.
The artistic and educational section will provide a true and authentic experience at the deepest level.
